My Photography

I have been taking a lot of photos in the recent past. Photos of my creations to post into my jewelry blog. At the same time experimenting and working on my photographic skills. As an amateur i have struggled a lot to get the desired image and look at times. In the process i have learnt quite a few lessons.

Remember these basic points while clicking jewelry pictures. Effort are minimal, results are good

  • search for an interesting background
  • sharp focus(more useful in closeup jewelry)
  • proper lighting(day light is preferred for a natural look)
  • drape the jewelry in different shapes
  • photograph the jewel in different angles
  • learn to use photoshop tools

Here are some of the interesting ones

Did You watch it?

It's a bird. It's a plane, It's Superman
No its not Superman......its the Celestial Beacon!!

I did watch it. But only a partial one. I know people at different geographies have witnessed
different levels and stages of the eclipse.

Whenever I watch a Solar Eclipse, my mind travels back in time to the First Eclipse I had witnessed. The memories are so vivid.

I was in 6th or 7th std. The "eclipse" thing was new to us then. We were quite excited and eager to see it. We had already started counting the days, as if it was for our birthday.
Teachers had left no points untold about the whole phenomenon and other details. Enough guidance and instructions were given about the "Dos and Don'ts" by them.

Specially designed glossy "eclipse sunglasses" were on sale at school which we had bought without fail. And finally the moment had come. It started getting dark slowly and slowly. We could hear the chirping of birds on their way back to nests assuming it was sunset.....

We were very busy trying to catch each glimpse with that one sunglass, turn by turn, (we could have used an x-ray sheet or a photo negative....but....excitement of watching sun through those sunglasses was something else!)

We got to witness the complete phenomenon. That was an ecstatic feeling. (The sun had suddenly become the center of attraction for the whole world that day)

Hey do you remember this Nandu, Aru, Jnani?

The Transporter

Watched this movie last weekend. Released in 2002 , directed by Corey Yuen, this movie is about Frank Martin (Jason Statham) who works as a Transporter. His job is to deliver packages from one place to another. He carries out dangerous and mysterious tasks strictly adhereing to set of rules.
Rule one: Never change the deal.
Rule two: No names asked. He doesn't want to know for whom he's working or what he's transporting.
Rule three: Never look into the package.

The problem starts when he breaks the third rule out of curiosity, opens the bag to find a beautiful girl tied. With his life in danger he fights to protect the lives of many enslaved people
The fight sequences are brilliant, don't miss.

Five Point Someone

What got me to this book honestly was the buzz surrounding it. I know it is a book published way back in 2004 and am too late a reader. This happened when my brother sent me the link to Chetan Bhagat 's post and i was really moved. I am yet to watch the controversial movie, for which the world is going ga-ga over it.(i know..i know..am late in this too...) before i take either Mr.Amir or Mr. Chetan's side.
